We don’t want to give too much away, but here is a still from the shot I have been working on for the better part of the month (clocking in at a whopping 5 seconds.) It shows the initial and final forms of the animation. The top part is drawn in-computer using a tablet pen in flash. Once the animation is done all solids are replaced with a line copy that gets traced in pencil. Some work in aftereffects takes care of the color. Hopefully you will see these girls playing hopscotch in one of the scenes panning across the playground.

Well this is exciting! A bunch of us students from the Rhode Island School of Design, The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Harvard University, and Montserrat College Of Art have been working diligently on the animated short film directed by Daniel Sousa under the working title “Feral.” Apparently inspired by the story of Kasper Hauser, who spent his childhood sequestered and devoid of human contact, and other abandoned children. We’ve been hard at work for about a month now and will be at it a month more at least. We’ll be posting progress here for those that are interested. Thanks for stopping by!
